Insurance and your lease vehicle

In this section  you will find all the information you need to know about tax and insurance for you new lease vehicle.

Due to Consumer Credit Regulations set out by the FCA, no insurance products can be included within the lease contract monthly repayments and must be arranged separately.  It is the responsibility of the individual or business leasing the vehicle to arrange adequate cover.

If you would like a competitive motor insurance quote, we recommend you visit our partner A-Plan. For more information  click here.

We also partner with Autoprotect to provide a range of insurance options that you can add on to the cost of your lease. Options include:

  • GAP insurance which protects you against having to pay the rest of your lease if the car is stolen or written off
  • Misfuelling insurance which covers the repairs needed if you fill your car with the wrong fuel
  • Key insurance that covers loss or theft of car keys
  • SMARTProtect  insurance which covers the cost of repairing any minor dents or scratches on the car.

We have a range of insurance bundles to choose from which offer savings on the individual cost of buying insurance separately.

If you're looking for general insurance to cover your car we have a price comparison tool which lets you compare the cost of different premiums for the proposed car you want to lease.

A lot of people who lease cars do so on behalf of their business or as a company allowance. In this guide we explain the tax implementations of doing so.
