Vauxhall Corsa As Popular As Ever...
posted on Dec 03 2009 by Jade Hensby
Vauxhall's Corsa may have been overshadowed in the cut-throat supermini sector by more recent launches such as the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo, but these have done little to dim its popularity with fleets and business car leasing customers. It was the second best-selling supermini to fleets last month with 6,699 registrations -- 1,085 behind the Fiesta, its traditional rival.
The new Vauxhall Corsa has now added ultra-low running costs to its solid, all-round ability with a new Ecoflex model. The new Corsa Ecoflex is available to lease in Club and Life trim, but currently only as a three-door only. With economy of 70.6mpg, it emits 105g/km of CO2, making environmentally friendly improvements of 9.8mpg and 14g/km on the outgoing Vauxhall Corse model. These figures also give it annual VED of 35 and the lowest benefit-in-kind tax of 13%. For example the 'Life' trim has an annual BiK bill of only 299 for a 20% taxpayer.
This makes it a very affordable company car to lease. Other changes include lowering the Corsa's ride height by 20mm, optimising airflow through its front air intakes, fitting low rolling resistance tyres, and a weight-saving package that cuts its kerbweight by 45kg. These modifications allow you to get the higher miles per gallon rate, allowing you to make additional savings over the duration of your lease. There are currently some outstanding car leasing deals around, which make the cost to own a new Vauxhall Corsa very affordable indeed.
