Tributes to Stephen Hawking who had embodied one of Jaguar's "British Villains"

One of the greatest minds of our world has left us today.
He will be remembered as a brilliant scientist and as a man who was full of courage, of passion for life and of humour.
As a humble trace of his sense of humour and showing another side of the physicist’s personality, one can recall his participation in 2016 to the Jaguar’s “British Villains” campaign which had promoted the launch of Jaguar’s first SUV, the F-Pace. Shot by the Oscar-winning director Tom Hopper, the ad starred Professor Stephen Hawking as a new evil mastermind, hence making one of the scientist’s dreams come true. He had indeed expressed the wish of “being a Bond Villain” in an exclusive Interview with WIRED UK in December 2014, about a year and a half before Jaguar contacted him for the F-Pace campaign.
At the time Ralf Specht the chief operating at Spark44, which had created the commercial, had added: “British villains are the smartest villains in the world, perfectly embodied by the great actors Sir Ben Kingsley, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Strong and Nicolas Hoult. Taking it to the next level with ‘British Intelligence’ is a small step and nobody personifies this any better than Professor Stephen Hawking”
He will be sorely missed, and we can all be grateful for his great spirit and wit.
