Skoda´s new Fabia VRS is here
posted on Nov 05 2010 by Matt
Skoda's Fabia VRS became a cult classic in it's previous encarnation, blending economy and good performance with the 1.9 turbo diesel engine, and they hope to continue the cars success with the new version.
Gone now is the diesel engine, replaced by the techology packed 1.4 TSI petrol engine. Fitted with both a turbo charger and a super charger this little engine produces 180 BHP and 184lb or torque which enables this car to reach 62 mph in 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 139 mph, whichs returning an impressive 45.6 mpg and a low CO2 figure of 148g/km.
The other big change this time around is the gearbox. Out is the previous manual transmission and in is the fantastic new generation 7 speed DSG gearbox, complete with it's paddle shift on the steering wheel. The DSG gearbox has received huge acclaim since it's launch a few years ago, and is now available in all VW, Audi and Seat models as well as the Skoda range, and is now beicoming more common in the smaller hot hatch market. The same combination of TSI engine and DSG box can now be found in the Seat Ibiza and VW Polo, but with the Seat being some 1200 dearer and the VW another 2000 more than that the Skoda represents true value for money.
The car is available to order today, and better still there are other colours to choose from! Call us today for a competitive business contract hire or personal contract hire or PCP quote on 01273 789 900.
