French manufacturer Renault has confirmed the specs and prices for the new Clio.
It will only be available as a five-door hatchback with prices ranging from £10,595 to £16,095. The starting price makes it cheaper than the £12,050 entry-level five-door Vauxhall Corsa S and only marginally more expensive than the five-door Ford Fiesta Studio at £10,395.
The entry-level Clio Expression starts the range with a 1.2 16V 75 engine. It also hosts a fair bit of equipment with electric front windows and door mirrors, cruise control, keyless go, hill start assist and a four-speaker stereo with USB and Bluetooth connection.
Air conditioning, front fog lights and 16-inch alloys can be added with the Clio Expression+. The Expression may only offer drivers with a single choice of engine but the remaining models in the range are available with the new Renault 0.9 three-cylinder turbo petrol, 1.2-litre petrol or the 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine.
The Dynamique MediaNav is predicted by Renault to be the top selling model in the UK. It includes a 7-inch touchscreen sat-nav, black gloss exterior trim, auto lights and wipers, Arkamys stereo and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The Dynamigue S MediaNav tops the range until the Renaultsport and GT Line arrive next year. These add 17-inch alloys, chrome side window surrounds, climate control, electric folding door mirrors, rear electric windows, rear parking sensors, gloss black interior door handles and come in a selection of four different colour inserts.
Other options such as metallic paint will cost you 460 and a panoramic glass roof will be another 350. Buyers will also be able to customise the trim of each Clio by selecting from five interior and exterior dcor packs.
The new Clio range will go on sale on 1 November, however the first cars will not arrive at dealers until 1 February next year.
