New Citroen DS3 1.6 E-HDi Test Drive
posted on Jul 08 2014 by Kiri Nowak
We were able to test drive the new Citroen DS3 to see what this fashionable supermini has to offer. The first thing to note about this car is its good looks. The DS3 stands out from the crowd with its unique design and impressive styling.
It has a similar appeal to the mini both inside and out, but it is more affordable and running costs are much lower. The gear stick and quirky interior have similarities with the infamous mini. The DS3 has a retro feel to it with its unusual speedometer and unique design.
There is no doubt about it; this car is fun to drive. It has something different about it and produces a confident, memorable drive. It deals with corners exceptionally well and feels very agile. The steering is also nice and light, making negotiating roundabouts and sharp corners effortless.
You won’t have to worry about getting off the mark quickly because the 1.6 has enough power to get away quickly. It doesn’t struggle gathering speed on motorways and dual carriageways either. As a front seat passenger the ride is smooth and there is plenty of leg room. The car may look small but it still has a very reasonable amount of headroom.
The DS3 1.6 e-HDi Aidream DStyle achieves an impressive 76.30 miles per gallon and has CO2 emissions of just 95 g/km. It isn’t the fastest car in its class but it takes a fairly speedy 12.50 seconds to reach 62 miles an hour.
Colours and styling
One of the attractions of this car is its potential for personalisation. This car comes in a wide range of different colours including, polar white, ruby red, ink blue, arctic steel, shark grey, sport yellow, sport red, hickory brown, pearl white, pearl near black and whisper purple. On some models you can also opt for a different colour roof.
