Mercedes CLA images revealed ahead of Detroit Motor Show

The new Mercedes CLA has been revealed ahead of its official debut at this months Detroit Motor Show. We have some cracking deals on our Mercedes CLA lease page.
The images confirm expectations that the design for the CLA is largely inspired by the Mercedes Concept Style Coupe which was shown at last years Beijing Motor Show. However, some of the more striking aspects have been toned down for the CLA including the 21-inch alloys and red glowing headlights.
Sharing the same all-wheel drive platform and MFA small car front, the CLA looks similar to the newest A Class and B Class models. It does, however, have a pair of unique ridges running along its bonnet and the lower creases on the sides dont flick up as they do on the A Class. The influences from the A Class are continued on into the interior, with the CLA having the same central screen and SLS inspired air vents.
It is the AMG Sport spec version that is shown in the leaked images though, characterised by its aggressive front bumper with broad air intakes and distinctive front grille with a large Mercedes badge that's similar to that of the SLS.
Mercedes will reveal the full details for the CLA before the Detroit Motor Show begins on 14th January but its anticipated the line-up will have three petrol and three diesel engines. We also expect the CLA to be available in either all or front-wheel drive, with a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch gearboxes.
Eventually the CLA will be made available in an all-wheel drive 45 AMG model, much like the A Class 45 AMG, after the standard range goes on sale in the UK this summer. It should also be competitively priced compared to the forthcoming BMW 2 Series coupe, with the entry level CLA costing from 23,500.
