Mercedes-Benz Fans Gear Up For Hamilton Rosberg Title Race Showdown
posted on Nov 12 2014 by Kiri Nowak
Mercedes fans are in for a thrilling race on the 23rd November in Abu Dhabi. It’s the last race of the Grand Prix circuit, and it’s likely to be a thrilling finale. Lewis came in second place at last week’s Brazil Grand Prix, finishing behind his teammate and rival Rosberg who took the win. This results of this race have kept fans waiting until the final race to crown the champion.
Hamilton now has a 17 point lead, but he is definitely not getting ahead of himself. Hamilton has said ‘There is zero comfort going into the next race. In the last race you never know what is going to happen, so I'm going into it to win.’ This is the fourth time in Hamilton’s career that it’s come down to the last race of the season to find out whether he will snatch the title. He is definitely used to this kind of pressure, but will he hold it together in Abu Dhabi?
There are a number of different scenarios that could occur in the final race. If Rosberg is on top of his game and wins the race, Hamilton has to come second to get the title. If Hamilton comes in before Rosberg then he will obviously be the overall winner. If Rosberg comes lower than sixth then Hamilton will win. Here are some other possibilities as stated on the Formula One official website:
- If Rosberg is second, Hamilton must finish fifth or higher
- If Rosberg is third, Hamilton must finish sixth or higher
- If Rosberg is fourth, Hamilton must finish eighth or higher
- If Rosberg is fifth, Hamilton must finish ninth or higher
Formula One fans are certainly in for a treat, this race promises to be very tense as these two battle it out for the ultimate glory. The rivalry between the two has been tense all season, with the two having a few run ins along the way. Surprisingly, the big boss of Formula One, Bernie Ecclestone has said where his loyalty lies. ‘Lewis Hamilton will be a better champion for F1 than Nico Rosberg... most people haven't heard of him!’ Former Formula One World Champion Nigel Mansell reportedly is also on team Lewis and believes he has the title in ‘one hand.’
Both drivers have chosen to drive Mercedes-Benz cars in their personal life for obvious reasons.
