Insane Cars From Fast And Furious 7
posted on Apr 06 2015 by Kiri Nowak
Fast and Furious 7 absolutely smashed box office records, taking £257 million in its opening weekend (over half of this figure is from the US). This now makes it the fourth highest profitable opening film of all time. That’s pretty impressive for the film franchise about fast cars and family.
Part of the reason for the latest installments success is due to the untimely death of Paul Walker, the star of the films. He passed away in 2013 following a fatal real life car crash. The final film is a tribute to the late Paul Walker.
All of the films have featured some of the most impressive cars from around the world, and the seventh installment is no different. The cars in Fast and Furious 7 certainly don’t disappoint. It features the usual nail biting chase scenes, spectacular crashes and heartfelt family moments.
Over 230 cars were destroyed in the making of this film. And we all know about that scene where the cars drop out of the plane, the fact that the produces actually threw cars out of the plane for parts of that scene show the lengths they were willing to go to for the perfect shot. The films try to avoid relying on CGI for these sort of scenes as much as is possible.
Dominic Toretto and the rest of the gang are back for more action and spine tingling adventure in the seventh film. The members of the gang are hunted by Ian Shaw, who wants revenge for his brother’s death. Here are some of the most insane and coolest cars featured in Fast and Furious 7.
A film about cars wouldn’t be complete without featuring the world’s fastest street-legal production car. The Bugatti is a car for the super rich and famous, with owners such as Simon Cowell and Cristiano Ronaldo. It can reach a top speed of 267 miles per hour and has an 8.0 litre quad-turbocharged engine.
Armoured Jeep Wrangler
Although this car isn’t as aesthetically pleasing as some of the supercars featured in the film it’s still pretty awesome. It’s driven by Tej (Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges) in the film and plays a role in some of the chase scenes. If you want to lease a Jeep with us you can but it won't come with armour as standard!
Aston Martin DB9
The film’s villain, Jason Statham gets to drive a flashy Aston Martin DB9. His character’s car is involved in a head on collision with Toretto's Dodge Charger in the film. He also gets to drive a Maserati Ghibli and a Jaguar F-Type.
The first supercar from the UAE has a key role in Fast and Furious 7. This car, worth $3.4 million has a top speed of 385km/h and 770bhp. It can go from 0 to 100kph in 2.8 seconds. It plays a big role in the film as it is featured in a key scene where Dom jumps between skyscrapers.
Ferrari 458 Italia
This stunning car is considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful cars. It has a 4.5 litre V8 engine which puts out 562bhp. It has a top speed of 325km/ph. This car drives on Formula 1 inspired suspension and has a seven speed dual clutch transmission.
This classic American car is put through its paces and takes a bit of a beating during the film. It has a very distinctive look and has a 6.4 litre engine with peak torque of 640Nm.
There are a few Dodge muscle cars featured in the movie.
