If Cars Were Dinosaurs - Jurassic Park

Jurassic World is out this week, and there has been a huge amount of buzz and excitement surrounding the film. The latest installment of the Jurassic Park franchise is set to be bigger and better than ever (although it will have to be sensational to beat the first film, which was epic). As a tribute to the film we thought it would be fun to match dinosaurs up with cars. If each of the dinosaurs was a car, what would they be?

T-Rex - Jeep Wrangler

The T-Rex is arguably the ultimate dinosaur, or at least one of the most terrifying. We think a T-Rex would be most like a Jeep Wrangler because it is bold, big, meaty, strong and ferocious. Just like the Jeep, it can take a battering and still come out on top and can effortlessly tear through open terrain. It’s not the particularly pretty but is resilient and dominant. The T-Rex is a fearless top predator that’s distinctly rugged and skilled at maneuvering off road, as is the bulky Wrangler.

Velociraptor - Porsche Boxster

Velociraptors are fast, agile and have extremely acute senses. That’s why we think a Velociraptor can be likened to a Porsche Boxster. Like the T-Rex, Velociraptors are ruthless killing machines, but they are far more intelligent. As the Velociraptor ranks highly among dinosaurs, the Porsche Boxster is one of the most impressive sports cars. It has excellent handling, delivers an epic drive and great to look at.

Diplodocus - Skoda Octavia

Skoda drivers would probably say it’s reliable, safe and comfortable but not the fastest of cars. The same can be said for the Diplodocus, which is said to be the longest animal to have graced the earth, at 30 metres in length. The Skoda Octavia might not be the longest car but it is very spacious and reliable with excellent stability control.

Triceratops - Subaru WRX STI

The Triceratops has sharp looks, can look after itself, aggressive nature, will defend itself to the end. Therefore we think it would be most like the Subaru WRX STI. The Subaru delivers a dramatic performance, has a practical body (much like the Triceratops with its horns and protective frill on its head) and is very solid.

Pterodactyl - Jaguar F Type Convertible

The Pterodactyl is a fast, agile flying reptile that is extremely quick through the air. People assume it is smaller, but it is actually a pretty large dinosaur, yet very nimble. Therefore it would probably be most like the Jaguar F Type Convertible. The Jaguar F Type is sharp, powerful and fast. Like the Pterodactyl it produces an excellent ride with flawless handling.

Stegosaurus - Ford F150 Pickup Truck

The Stegosaurus is an armed dinosaur with a plated back and a spiked tail. They tend to be a little slow but they are very thick skinned, safe and have a dangerous tail. We think the Stegosaurus is most like a Ford F150 Pickup Truck. Pickup trucks aren't the quickest of vehicles but what they lack in speed they make up for in power and practicality. They are made to do their job and are extremely strong and durable.

Ankylosaurus - Citroen C4 Cactus

A lesser known dinosaur, the Ankylosaurus has armour around it’s body that looks very similar to the protective banners that the Cactus has on its doors. Therefore we think the Citroen C4 Cactus and Ankylosaurus are the perfect match.

Gallimimus - Mini Cooper

The Gallimimus was a small but very quick dinosaur that’s wasn’t to be underestimated. This smaller dinosaur was durable, strong and could escape from danger quickly. These characteristics are very similar to that of the Mini Cooper.
