The 2013 Frankfurt motor show unveiled an array of new cars from different makes, all due for release next year. Here at LeaseYourNextCar.com weve looked at the four debuts from Mercedes. From 2014 youll have more choice- the Mercedes S Class Coupe, the S500 Hybrid, the CLA racing series and finally the S63 AMG Super Saloon. So what do these cars have to offer?
The S Class Coupe has seen some modifications. When looking at the S Class you can see that the nose is more upright and now sports a single bar grill; there is a lower roofline while the rear lights are narrow and come around the body of the car.
The inside of Mercedes always impresses and this is certainly no different, with the main focus now being the central touch screen display. Impressively there is now a 6D vision box which can monitor traffic and pedestrians that are up to 50 meters ahead of the car.
The power is in all the 4.7 litre V8, producing 449 bhp and 700 Nm of torque- with a debut of the nine speed auto box.
The S500 Hybrid was certainly an addition to the Mercedes collection. Boasting a 329 bhp, 3.0- litre V6 turbo charged engine, which is paired with 80-kW electric motor. This motor can return 94.2 mpg and emits only 69 g/km of CO2. This car can cover 18 miles on electric power alone.
The batteries in the S500 have the advantage of being able to be topped externally using the charging socket which is located in the rear bumper. Drivers can select from four hybrid operating systems- normal hybrid, electric power only, electric power save and driving charging mode.
The Mercedes CLA Racing Series is the sister car to the SLA GT3. It can be either front or four wheel drive depending on where its racing. The body is carbon fibre with a reinforced plastic body kit, upgraded suspension and a full body roll kit.
The last car that Mercedes introduced in the Frankfurt Motor Show was the S63 AMG Super Saloon. Described as a car that set new standards in driving dynamics, performance, refinement and technology you can be sure this car will deliver. The power comes from the 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo twinned with an AMG Speed shift MCT seven-speed sports transmission. Fitted with Mercedes AMG sport suspension with Magic Body Control and Burnester Surround Sound System, and thats just the standard. Some other features of the Super Saloon are driving assist package, panoramic roof, keyless go and tyre pressure monitoring system to name just a few.
