GMC Leasing raise money for NSPCC with a Big Bike Ride
With a little over a week away from the NSPCC Big Bike Ride. the lads at GMC Car Leasing are hard at work raising money. On Sunday 20th July our lads will joing Sally Gunnell and her 4 boys, at Christ Hospital in Horsham for the 2008 Big Bike RideThe lads at GMC Leasing based in Lancing, West Sussex are taking a break from their usual work of contract hire, car leasing and insurance specialists, to take part in another fund raising event. It has only beena fewweeks since Gary Shapland - General Manager swam 1.5km in a national swimathon raising £300 for Marie Curie, that he has now rallied around the lads in the office for the lastest charity fundraiser. Here is thelink so you can take the opportunity to pledge a few quid to encourage the lads along their way. We want to beat our last record of £300 so please give generously. At least2 lads from GMC Leasing fromLancing, West Sussexare getting on their bikes on Sunday 20th July at the BIG BIKE RIDE Horsham to help prevent cruelty to children. By burning rubber as part of the NSPCC's BIG BIKE RIDE, GMC is helping to fund crucial services such as ChildLine and the Child Protection Helpline.Last year, the Child Protection Helpline received over 120,000 calls from children and adults. But the NSPCC is not able to answer every call because a cash injection is desperately needed. ChildLine volunteer counsellors are only able to answer just over half of all calls from vulnerable young people. Gary Shapland said: “We are doing THE BIG BIKE RIDE becausesome of us are parents and you want to do your bit to ensure children are safe which is why we want to raise funds to support the NSPCC's vital services for children. The more people who take part in Lancing, Horsham and West Sussex, the more children we can help.†Where the BIG BIKE RIDE money will go: £11 could pay for a 15 minute Ask Sam session on There4me.com - an online support service for young people.£28 could answer three calls to our Child Protection Helpline from anyone worried about the well being of a child or young person. £70 could cover two months of free phone call costs for a ChildLine counsellor. £126 could enable three children to receive an in-depth counselling session with one of our ChildLine volunteer counsellors.
